“Free Will”

Thank you Nilay

You have free will, but are you truly free?

You say, “I can do whatever I want,” and yes, this is true, but are you free to do what’s right? Can you do what’s right?

You ask, “What is right?”

Can you turn away from sin? Are you free to do what’s right? You will find that you are a slave. But you CAN be set free.

You have free will, but are you truly free?

“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

“Known Sinner”

Thank you Heather

You say, “I believe in the Lord,” and yet you love your sin.

You say, “God loves me!” But you do not love Him.

You say, “I know Him,” but by your actions, you deny Him.

You say, “God is merciful,” and yet we’ll all be judged.

Are you not deceived?

“No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.”

"Keeper"

Thank you Karim

You keep me.

It’s You who keeps me.

You keep me.

In the same way that I entrust You to keep my soul, I trust You in every other area of life.

I see now, my faith must be the same.

And I cannot keep myself,

but You are more than able to keep.

How good You are!

Lord, You keep me!

It’s You who keeps me!

My faith is in You…

“To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”

‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:24-25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Abundance”

And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ’

“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

“This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” —The Parable of the Rich Fool

Luke 12:16-21 NIV

“The Impossible”

Thank you Deepix Studio

It is impossible for a man to do the will of God. Only the Spirit of God can do the will of God.

If the Spirit of God lives in the man and carries him, he can be enabled and empowered to do the will of God. But that same man must willingly surrender his own will, and seek to do the will of God, in order for God’s will to be done by, or through the man. That man must stay connected to the God of the Spirit, by being obedient to the Spirit. Then the Spirit will guide and work through that man.

The man, who loves God, lives to do the will (desires) of God. If any man lives to do his own will (desires), he does not love God, nor does he know Him…

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

John 15:4-7 NIV

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.”

John 15:13-14 NIV

“You Cannot Come”

Thank you photo_naga98

There was a group of men who were seen as pious and good in the eyes of the people. They were respected leaders and righteous teachers in their community. These men were wise and knowledgeable.

They and all their people were expecting a man to come; a man sent by God to deliver them. For generations they waited for this man.

And after much time, the man did come. But when he came, they did not recognize him as the man they were expecting. He did not fit the image of what they thought he would be like, so they did not receive him.

Maybe they thought he would be like them; that he would act like them, speak like them, think like them.

But he did not. In fact, the things he did, the way he spoke, the way he thought, was like no one else. He seemed to contradict their ways. And they hated him for it.

They hated this man so much, that they wanted to get rid of him. They saw him as a danger to the people, because their perspective was skewed. They were the real danger to the people.

He was aware of this, so he spoke these words to them…

“I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me. You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come.”

Where I am, you cannot come.

Where I am, you cannot come.

Where I am, you cannot come…

Many people read the stories about these pious men and think, “I would never be like those men. They did not recognize the very one their hopes were set on!”

But these knowledgeable men truly believed they were doing the right thing. How many, how many of us, are these men today? Many. And to them, these same words will be spoken…”Where I am, you cannot come.”

“Lie to Me”

Thank you snake_unity

Do you want to know the truth, or do you prefer lies? Do you prefer only words you want to hear, or words that are true?

Is it that you prefer lies, or have you been lied to so much that the truth is foreign? Maybe you never knew the truth? The truth looks and sounds like a lie, and the lies look and sound like the truth.

Which will you believe? What do you prefer?

You say, “Tell me the truth!”

But no, you love smooth talk. You prefer to hear words that make you feel good. You truly say, “Lie to me.”

Because you’ve lived in lies for so long, you hate the truth.

Because you’ve lived in the dark for so long, the light is too bright for you.

I pray that your eyes will adjust. I pray that the truth will help you see—that it will set you free.

The Truth says, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.”

Which will you believe? What do you prefer?

This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere: “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn—and I would heal them.”

John 12:38-40 NIV
